Parents Reaching Out to Parents
Please join the South Carolina Speech-Language and Hearing Association at our affordable and conveniently located Fall Workshop featuring well-known Response to Intervention (RtI) specialist, Judi Rudebusch on Saturday, September 25th, 2010 at the Clarion hotel in Columbia, SC.
This RtI Workshop will focus on the implementation of speech-language services for school-aged children within a Response to Intervention framework. Response to Intervention (RtI) is a systematic process of instruction providing services at appropriate levels of intensity based on a child’s needs. Although RTI has primarily been implemented in the public schools for children K-12, there is research to support its use within early childhood education programs, including early intervention. Given the current trends in service delivery to infants and toddlers in compliance with Part C regulations, Early Interventionists and other professionals serving this population would benefit by learning more about the principles of RTI presented in this workshop, including: the tiered model of intervention; team decision-making; and progress monitoring.
